By joining Carnes Hill Music Teachers (“School” / “We” / “Us”) you are agreeing to the terms and conditions listed below.

PLEASE READ THESE CAREFULLY.

 

YOUR OBLIGATIONS

 

[Music Lessons]

It is a requirement and the responsibility of each student taking part in the music lessons:

  1. To listen carefully and follow the teacher’s instructions at all times
  2. To ask the teacher to clarify the direction given by the teacher if they do not understand
  3. To speak to the teacher if they are in any doubt or have any concerns
  4. To act in a manner that is safe and courteous to the teacher
  5. To only film or take pictures with prior consent from the teacher each time

It is an integral part of each student’s music practice to:

  1. To arrive on time for lesson
  2. Bring their music book and notebook
  3. To respect their teacher
  4. To respect the property and equipment they use
  5. To take care of their own belongings

 

[Lessons Fees]

  1. Lessons are to be paid for in advance to reserve a regular time on the teacher’s schedule.
  2. Lesson fees are collected every 4 lessons in advance and payment in full (Cash or Bank Transfer) must be made on the 4th lesson to continue music lessons with us.
  3. Students who do not pay their fees within the given timeframe are presumed to be discontinuing lessons and will be replaced by other students on our waiting list.
  4. As a registered Creative Kids provider, we accept Creative Kids vouchers to be used as a form of payment for your lesson fees. Any outstanding balance will have to be paid by you for lessons.

[Attendance]

  1. It is your obligation to attend the weekly lesson at the allocated time slot reserved for you.
  2. Lessons will begin in a timely manner, and it is your responsibility to attend on time, we cannot reimburse you for lost time due to lateness.
  3. We will not accept any lesson cancellation due to lateness.

[Cancellation]

The non-attendance of a student from one of the weekly scheduled music lessons

Cancellations OUTSIDE of 24 hours

  1. Any cancellation of a lesson must be made 24 hours before the beginning of that lesson commencing.
  2. In the event of such cancellation a make-up credit will be issued for a make-up lesson*.
  3. Please note that make-up lessons are subject to availability and are not guaranteed.
  4. Make-up credit expires in a month so speak to your teacher as soon as possible to arrange a lesson.

Cancellations INSIDE 24 hours from lesson commencing

  1. Any cancellation inside of 24 hours before a lesson commencing will mean a forfeiture of that lesson and no make-up credit will be issued.
  2. Only in exceptional circumstances** where the reason for cancellation is due to events that are completely outside of your control that a make-up credit will be issued.
  3. We allow for two events of such nature every year for such cancellations.

Repeated cancellations in a time period

  1. If you repeatedly cancel scheduled lessons each week within a short time period, we may review your status as a student with us.***

Teacher cancellation

  1. If in the unlikely event that a teacher has to cancel your lesson, you will receive notice from us immediately and we will speak to you directly to arrange for a make-up lesson.

* A replacement lesson for your scheduled weekly lesson

** Lateness, Forgetfulness, Tired kids, School/University related commitments are not valid circumstances

*** This would be determined on a case by case basis looking at your frequency in a given time.

[Termination]

The discontinuation of music lessons from us until further notice

  1. Once you begin the payment cycle, we assume that you will be continuing lessons and complete payments unless you notify us of any changes or termination.
  2. Any termination of lessons has to be notified in writing 4 lessons in advance.
  3. Your last four lessons will begin from the week after you have notified us of termination.
  4. Payment has to be made for the last four lessons and it will depend on which lesson you are on for the payment cycle.****

****1st lesson – Pay for 1 extra lesson after the 4th

        2nd lesson – Pay for 2 extra lessons after the 4th

        3rd lesson – Pay for 3 extra lessons after the 4th

         4th lesson – Pay for 4 extra lessons after the 4th

The extra fees will be collected at the first of your last four lessons. Failure to provide sufficient notice or unwillingness to cooperate with this policy may result in the forfeiture of prepaid lessons and/or financial penalties.

I have read, and accept to follow ALL the obligations listed for music lessons.   

GENERAL CONDITIONS

 

  1. All our music lessons are one-on-one conducted with a teacher in 30, 45 and 60 minute weekly sessions.
  2. All of our teachers will have undergone WWCC and are highly qualified with years of experience in their respective instruments. Depending on the ability of the student, different material will be recommended and required for purchase to improve a student’s learning and playing.
  3. Enrolment in music examination is not mandatory at our school as we focus primarily on cultivating a student’s interest in the musical instrument. However, if you would like to pursue exams, this can be further discussed with the teacher.
  4. We reserve the right to increase lesson fees at any time. If we do so, we will provide notice and the change will take effect on your next payment cycle.
  5. Generally, NO cash refunds can be given on school payments unless it is covered under the Australian Consumer Law.
  6. We reserve the right to provide a relief teacher in the unlikely event that your usual teacher is unavailable. Notice will be provided immediately if there are such changes.
  7. We reserve the right to terminate any student at any time if it is deemed that the attitude or conduct of the student or their parents is not compatible with the concept and orientation of the school. Multiple breaches of these terms and conditions may also result in a review of your status with us.
  8. In participating and attending lessons at Carnes Hill Music Teachers you understand that:
    1. You take part in the music lessons entirely at your own risk; and
    2. The organiser of the music lessons do NOT accept any liability of whatsoever nature arising in respect of any claim, damages, loss, injury or expenses suffered directly or indirectly by any students arising out of or in connection with his/her participation in the music lessons
    3. If you do purchase any products from us, we will NOT be liable for any claims relating to improper use of the product resulting in loss, injury or expenses suffered directly or indirectly by any students.
  9. From time to time, we may take photos, video, or audio recordings of students playing. This is, in part for the student’s own benefit, as it gives a measurable sense of progress to see/hear yourself at different stages of development. All images and recordings will be archived, and you will be able to obtain a copy directly from your teacher upon request. These may also be posted to our relevant social media sites and webpage in the future. If you do not want an image to be used online, please let us know. We will double check your consent before sharing any image which we have on file from your enrolment.
  10. If you drive and park on our premises you agree to adhere to our requests to move your car if we determine that you are parked inappropriately.
  11. Our school operates throughout the year and we do not simply follow the school term to accommodate the wide range of students we have. Unless we notify you in advance that lessons will be suspended for a period of time, you can assume that lessons will be resuming as per usual each week.
